Evie has been attending classes at Highstone since she was three (she’s now 8) and it has been lovely to watch her confidence in all aspects of dance grow. Everyone at Highstone is so friendly and they really get to know each child and work with them to improve not only their techniques and performance skills but also to help them develop as an individual. There are lots of opportunities available for all students and I’m delighted that Evie was selected for her first panto this year.

Our daughter started at the Highstone Dance Academy when she was 3 and since then has loved every minute. Fantastic teachers, incredibly patient in dealing with the little ones, a great selection of classes and convenient class times have enabled our daughter to develop a love for dance. There are also brilliant opportunities to practice stage performances and grow confidence at dancing in front of an audience as the academy puts on theatre shows involving all the dancers – even the little ones.

Highstone Dance Academy isn’t just an amazing, friendly and committed dance school – it’s ethos of ‘believing that dance is fun so that’s the way they teach it!’ has created it’s very own unique ‘Highstone’ community embracing the very youngest member to the oldest – through the universal language of dance.

My daughter Emily has been dancing at Highstone since the age of 3 (she is now
13) and enjoys all her weekly classes. She has participated in five Highstone
shows which are always very professional and two professional pantomimes at The Wyllyotts Theatre in Potters Bar. She has made some great friends through dancing as have I because, Highstone is not just a Dancing School its a Dancing Family. Sally, Sam and all the teaching staff are amazing ensuring all the pupils reach there full potential whether dancing is a hobby or they want to make it a profession for life. They really do embrace the school motto ” dancing is fun so thats the way we teach it”.

Highstone Dance Academy instilled a sense of discipline from an early age in both our daughters, helped them gain selected entrance to secondary school and our youngest daughter was accepted by the Royal Academy of Dance to study for her PGCE and is now a fully qualified Dance teacher in a respected Barnet secondary school. Samantha Ewen and Sally Assoul have always encouraged both girls and remain firm family friends.

My daughter Holly started Introduction to ballet at Highstone when she had just turned 3, she is now almost 10 and is still absolutely loving ballet, tap and street dance. The teachers are wonderful and Sally and Sam lead the school brilliantly. It is super organised and offers many opportunities to its students. My daughter has now danced in 4 wonderful Highstone shows which are absolutely stunning to watch, 2 professional pantomimes and has taken tap and ballet exams. She adores her lessons and looks forward to them every week. She has made best friends and I have watched her grow in confidence during her years there. Sally and Sam have created an amazing school where you really do feel like part of a huge, welcoming family. We cannot speak highly enough of Highstone and would recommend it without hesitation. I have put my 1 year old’s name down already on the waiting list!

My daughter has been attending Highstone Dance Academy since she was three years
old (she is now seven) and it has always been the highlight of her week. The staff are all so friendly and the girls adore them. The Academy seems to be very inclusive and caters for everyone who just loves dancing as well as those who are quite serious about it. The school actually feels like one big dancing family.
The biannual dance show is absolutely amazing and all dance students can be involved. It is always a sell-out and the students shine – I don’t think my daughter can remember much from when she was three but she certainly remembers her first Highstone Dance Academy show at the Wyllyotts Theatre! She, and her dance class friends, spent much of the following two years looking forward to the next one.
My daughter has stated that she wants to stay at the school for as long as she can (18 I guess). She took her first exam in July and surprisingly loved the whole experience! The holiday (full day) dance workshops are a great success, enabling students to try out
different forms of dance.
